When should I schedule my wedding date with Hannah’s Makeup?
The best time to book the wedding day for my makeup services would be as soon as possible, preferably 12 to 9 months prior to the wedding day to ensure my availability. A £25.00 deposit is required per person to secure my service for your wedding day. There is a minimum of three people required for booking for a Saturday or Sunday Bank Holiday wedding (includes Good Friday), including the bride.
Are there any preparations needed for getting my makeup service on my wedding day?
Work Station: Please have a table and chairs ready with adequate lighting to perform the makeup services. Outfit: Wear a buttoned-down shirt or anything you don't have to pull over your head.
Face: Should be cleansed with a daily skincare system. Please state any allergies pertaining to any makeup products to me before the service. Facial treatments are not recommended less than 7 days before the event. I am happy to accommodate special requests such as tattoo covering or back make up for a small fee.
Hair: Ideally, I prefer to do the brides makeup prior to hair as I work right up to the hairline to ensure a natural flawless finish. However, your hairstylist can place your hair in set or part style your hair, sectioning off the front with a clip. This only applies to the bride and not the rest of the bridal party.
Why is a makeup trial important?
To ensure the perfect look for your wedding day, a trial session is strongly recommended. Trial session are a preview session for you the bride to try out the makeup design for their wedding day. A successful trial session will take around 2 hours typically. By completing a trial the bride is offered a chance to experience the beauty she would become on the wedding day. This also provides the opportunity me and you to collaborate and share ideas on any improvements or changes to the bridal's look for the wedding day.
Where will the trial take place, do I travel to you?
I am a mobile makeup artist and do not work from home, I come to you. If you prefer to do the trial elsewhere other than your home address, please let me know. This location could be a friends home or your parents. All I require for the trial is 2 chairs, a table and be close to a power point as I bring my own lighting system with me.
What do I need to prepare for trial session?
During the trial, it is strongly recommended you to have pictures of makeup styles you like. Also, it is useful to share with me ideas regarding your hair, dress, colour themes, bridesmaids dresses, pictures of how you want your bridesmaids to look. With as much related information given, the better I can tailor and prepare for a unique and elegant appearance for your wedding makeup and your bridal party.
When is the best time to schedule the trial session?
3 to 4 months prior to the wedding day. Trials can only take place Saturday afternoons or on a Sunday
Do I need to put on any skin products before receiving the trial?
If you can be makeup free, this will optimise the time spent with me
Wedding day service duration and time break down:
Bridal makeup usually requires an hour and 15 minutes to 30 minutes on the day of the wedding. Bridesmaids usually will take 45 minutes to an hour depending on style and skin coverage.
What form of payment do you accept?
For makeup trials I accept cash on the day or payment via BACS/Paypal. In regards to the final amount owed, I accept payment by BACS or Paypal 3 weeks prior to wedding date.
What cosmetics do you use?
I use lots of different makeup products, brand names such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Becca, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, Doll Beauty, Georgio Armani, , Hourglass, ICONIC, Illamasqua, INGLOT, Laura Mercier, MAC, Make Up Forever, NARS, Tarte, Tom Ford, Urban Decay. However, if there is a particular makeup brand you prefer let me know.
Are you able to cater for sensitive skin needs?
Yes, I have worked on lots of different skin types, and have knowledge of the products I use. If you have certain sensitivities or allergies to makeup like Lanolin, please let me know. I know which of my products I can use for your skin types. It is also important to have a trial if you are aware of any sensitivities so we can trail the products first i with plenty of time between your wedding date.
Do your makeup products contain Parabens?
Yes, some do, however I know which products I possess do and don't, so if you prefer me to use products that are Paraben free I can with ease.
Are your makeup products cruelty free?
Yes all are, however some products I use do sell their products to China who legally require testing on animals before the products can be sold. I do not buy any of my products from China. If you prefer me to use Vegan makeup, I can as I am aware what brands I use are Vegan friendly
Do you charge for travel?
I am a mobile makeup artist and do not work from home. I am based in Hampshire and the first 10 miles from the GU34 postcode area are free. Thereafter locations travelled to after 10 miles will incur a travel charge of 0.55p per mile. The travel cost applies only to my travel to the desired destination and not my return journey. Travel costs apply to both trials and event booking date.
When do I have to let you know how many people I require makeup for my wedding day?
Numbers for bridal party requiring makeup are confirmed at booking with the deposit. If the bridal party numbers requiring makeup change, notice up to two months must be given otherwise full amount will be charged. Weddings on a bank holiday weekend or a Saturday, I require a minimum of three people to advance the booking.
Is my deposit refundable?
A £25.00 deposit per person is required to confirm your bridal booking, once this is received this will guarantee my availability for your wedding day. The deposit is non-refundable. Bridal enquiries for which a deposit has not been received are not confirmed and my availability cannot be guaranteed.
